Donated by F. Miles Van Slyke This is the discharge of Augustus Peter Van Slyke, son of David Oyer Van Slyke of Galesville,WI. To all whom it may concern:
Know ye, that Augustus P. Van Slyke, a Corporal of Captain Alex A. Arnold Company ("C") 30th Regiment of Wisconsin Infantry VOLUNTEERS, who was enrolled on the 1st day of August one thousand eight hundred and Sixty Two to serve Three years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States this 20th day of September, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky by reason of S.O. No 186 Par 4" Dept of Ky C.S. (no objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist.*) Said Augustus P. Van Slyke was born in Kenosha Co. in the State of Wisconsin, is Eighteen years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, Sandy complexion. Blue eyes, Red hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Farmer. Given at Louisville Ky this twentieth day of September 1865 ( ?????????? )
