Helpful Hint: Use the "Edit - Find (on this page)..." feature of your browser for searching All places of residence for the deceased are Wisconsin, unless otherwise noted. Where possible, the deceased's native area, if different from the place of residence/death, is listed. Maiden names of women are listed wherever they are available. Given names of women sometimes were not provided in obituaries supplied to the paper, especially in earlier years. Death dates, age at death, etc., were not always given in the obituary, and in those cases the information in this index is estimated. Those cases are generally noted with a question mark (?). Generally, obituaries were provided by the funeral home or the family, and thus the accuracy of the information contained in them was beyond the control of the newspaper. In the case of errors/omissions, corrections sometimes were run, but may not have been found by the compiler of this index. PLEASE NOTE: Copies of the Whitehall Times are available on microfilm at the Whitehall Public Library, and also by utilizing the interlibrary loan system through your own local library. These films have been made by the Wisconsin Historical Society and are generally housed in their Library Archives. Your local library will need to contact them to place an order for you. Bound volumes of editions later than 1940 are available for public viewing, during regular business hours, at The Times' office. Also see our Links page for other tools available to you.
