Gamroth: Volume 1A: Schools: Veum School District Veum School District, 1948 A piece of land was bought from Peter Solfest for $25.00 for a school house in September, 1906 in the town of Chimney Rock. The building was read in December. Earl Nelton taught the first year. Hilda Knutson taught the second year. Nora Nelton for 10 or 11 years. In 1919, Julia Veum taught for 1 year. Lillian Gunderson taught for 1 year. Julia Veum taught again for another year. Alma Johnson taught for 2 years. Minnie Olson taught for 1 year. George Filla taught for 1 year. Effie Filla taught from 1838-41, Effie Filla again came to teach for another year. George Filla is teaching school at the present time (1948). |
